Habitat project scheduled right before international convention
EXIT Realty Corp. International is proud once again to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity in its mission to ensure that everyone has access to decent housing.
On Saturday, October 12th, EXIT Realty volunteers from across North America will descend on the home of Thomas Glascoe to help Habitat for Humanity make much needed critical home repairs to his Dale City, Virginia home. Thomas is deaf, has cerebral palsy and severe asthma. He shared his Dale City home with his mother for the past 14 years, but unfortunately she passed away in November.
Thomas now lives alone and is not able to make necessary home repairs which include: attic and lower level insulation; replacing the rear steps to the backyard; caulking all of the windows and replacing all of the window trim; clearing overgrowth from the property; replacing outdoor faucets; removing the damaged fence and weatherization.
On Sunday, October 13th, project continues as EXIT Realty volunteers are set to embark on a beautification project at Marumsco Acres Lake Park in Woodbridge, Virginia. Volunteers will spread fresh mulch in existing beds, paint the basketball hoop structures, clean up brush and trash, plant sustainable plants and more. Following the community clean-up, Habitat for Humanity and EXIT Realty will celebrate their partnership – a partnership which is the essence of Neighborhood Revitalization. Volunteers and community leaders, dignitaries and members of the media are invited to join in the celebration at Marumsco Park.
A portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is dedicated to its charity of choice and to-date, more than $2 million has been pledged to Habitat for Humanity. EXIT Realty has sponsored 19 homes builds and made several grants to other Habitat for Humanity projects across the continent.
