The Spirit of EXIT and 3 Brokerages Sponsor Nova Scotia’s Wounded Warriors Highway of Heroes Ride

By Julie Glaser, Marketing & Development, EXIT Realty Town & Country, Greenwood, Nova Scotia

Thank you for including our sponsorship of the Wounded Warriors Highway of Heroes Ride in Nova Scotia in the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program.  We were thrilled for the opportunity to work together on this with EXIT Realty Corp. International alongside other two EXIT offices; EXIT Realty Metro in Halifax and EXIT Realty Professionals in Sackville.

Wounded Warriors Canada is a charity whose mission is to honour and support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces Members, First Responders, Veterans, and their families.  Their programs include clinical therapy, animal assisted therapies, resiliency training and respite care, for individuals and families, and research and education. There is a big focus on PTSD and mental health.

The bicycle journey was a two-day ride for a total of 204 kms, leaving from 14 Wing Greenwood and arriving at Citadel Hill in Halifax. With 25 riders from all over Canada, together with sponsors, close to $20,000 was raised.

Fifteen volunteers from three EXIT offices participated over the two days assisting with food and beverages at rest stops, moving from check point to check point, prepared to help anyone who needed extra time to rest or recover. The EXIT logo appeared on the jerseys worn by all riders, and were available online for others to purchase as well. EXIT tents and banners were set up at the rest stops.

Dean Peach, the Ride’s organizer in Nova Scotia, said, “The Ride this year was a big success in the eyes of the organizers, riders and Wounded Warriors’ head office. If it wasn’t for companies like EXIT, it would not have been possible and we owe you a big thank you for helping to make this happen. Brian Fraser at EXIT Realty Town & Country should also be thanked as he was on the organizing committee and was a big reason EXIT was involved. It all ran so smoothly under his guidance.

“Our relationship with EXIT this year was amazing and you made it seamless. We are hoping to have you involved again next year so that we can continue to raise awareness for those who help so many and are suffering.”

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds.  EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match the three EXIT brokerages’ sponsorship of the event in the amount of $2,000 for a total donation to Wounded Warriors of Canada of $4,000.
