Studies show that about 10% of the population loves public speaking, another 10% is absolutely terrified and the rest of the population falls somewhere in the middle, suffering anxiety, butterflies, sleeplessness etc. when confronted with the prospect of speaking in front of a group.

The dichotomy is that business people, especially those in real estate, are compelled by the very nature of working in sales, to speak in public with confidence and persuasiveness.  This is where EXIT Realty’s Ambassador training comes in.

Ambassador Training is a two-day course designed to improve public speaking skills and develop confidence when speaking with people one-on-one, in small groups or to an audience.  In a small group environment attendees learn how the uncomfortable feelings stirred up by public speaking can be overcome with simple and basic systems and insights.

Ambassador Training is the brainchild of EXIT Realty’s Director of Leadership, Bob McKinnon.  Bob is an experienced and mature business person and has been teaching sales and management for over four decades.  A California real estate broker for more than 40 years, Bob has owned and managed portions of five real estate companies, has been a franchisor, a corporate manager and Director.  For the last several years, Bob has been a personal development coach to top agent teams, businesses and regions including teaching the power of public speaking.  In 2016 he became a certified speaker, trainer and coach of the John Maxwell Team.

Since developing Ambassador Training, Bob has trained hundreds of EXIT Associates and created a large following of EXIT Ambassadors.  The course proved to be so popular that it became necessary to certify additional trainers to expand the program while maintaining the key element of small classes.  To that end, EXIT Realty veterans, Erica Nasby, Rick O’Neil and Michael McCarron, were certified to teach.

Vice President of Business Development for the Region of EXIT Realty Downstate NY, Rick O’Neil has over 40 years’ experience in real estate and real estate franchising. It has been estimated that Rick has trained over 200,000 brokers and agents and has addressed groups as large as 10,000. Both Inman News® and REALTOR® Magazine named Rick among the Top 25 Most Influential People in real estate. He is a graduate of the John C. Maxwell certification program as a coach, teacher, trainer and a speaker delivering the Maxwell Leadership principals.

EXIT Realty Corp. International’s Supervisor of Growth and Development for Canada, Michael McCarron, is a dynamic and lively presenter who brings decades of sales and leadership experience to Ambassador Training. He works with franchisees and agents helping them to understand the importance of relationship-building and using those skills to identify agents and would-be agents with the potential to succeed and also fit within EXIT’s unique culture.
