Mental health has become an increasing concern all over Canada, especially during the pandemic. To help with this struggle, Amanda Labuschagne, sales representative, and the team at EXIT Realty Advantage in Fredericton, New Brunswick, held a Home Team Golf Tournament to raise money for Capital Region Mental Health and Addictions Association (CRMHAA). This charity advocates for those in their care as well as providing education and support groups.
“With people being isolated, we really need organizations like this that have the expertise to help and support the most vulnerable in our society. The CRMHAA is a relatively small organization and does not often get sponsors like some of the larger charities do,” Amanda says.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
Amanda and the team held a golf day at Mactaquac Golf Course earlier this summer. They advertised the event on all social media platforms and had local sponsors for all the holes, as well as for “closest to the hole”, “longest drive”, etc. They hoped to raise $5,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded that goal and raised $5,150 for a total donation of $10,150 to CRMHAA. The money raised will be used to fund initiatives such as food for cooking classes, materials for workshops, and day tours.
