EXIT Landmark Realty and the Spirit of EXIT Multiply Impact for Children’s National Hospital

The agents of EXIT Landmark Realty and the local community came together to raise over $20,000 for Children’s National to assist with a new transport ventilator. This was truly a collaborative effort!

Bernadette Cole, Broker/Owner of EXIT Landmark Realty and Regional Owner of EXIT Realty Virginia, volunteered for the dunk tank to raise money for the cause at a collective fundraiser. She and her team of professionals also hosted an online fundraising campaign that they promoted through social media. Anna Jones and The Jones Team hosted a dinner at Foster’s Grille in La Plata, MD. A portion of all sales that evening were donated to the fundraising initiative. In addition, the team collected donations from business partners and the community.

Bernadette was introduced to Children’s National a few years ago by two fellow real estate agents who were collecting bears for children who were hospitalized or transported to the hospital. As they shared their story, she recalled her own daughter receiving a bear as a young child as she was being rushed to a pediatric hospital in an ambulance. “We were fortunate that she was treated, recovered and quickly released. When I asked our daughter about that day one of the few memories is of the stuffed bear she was given as comfort. I just knew I wanted to be part of the fundraiser,” stated Bernadette.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Bernadette and team hoped to raise $10,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded their goal and raised $11,500 for a total donation of $21,500 to Children’s National.

“Thank you for the incredible efforts of you and your team in support of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children’s National Hospital. We deeply appreciate your generosity and support to ensure all babies in our region and across the country have access to the live-saving equipment and care at Children’s National. Partners like you are integral to the successful outcomes we deliver to families every day. Together, we are building stronger, healthier futures for children,” said Tracy Jones, Senior Director, Children’s National.
