EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario Hits a Home Run with the Spirit of EXIT

Duncan MacDonald, Regional Director, EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario, organized the 2nd annual EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario (EREO) Amateur Baseball Skills Clinic to raise money for  Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard (GEFC). GEFC provides food for up to 3,600 residents yearly by working with the community, establishing their own farm plot, and providing programs to teach people how to grow their own food and encourage them to share it.

“The players learned skills in hitting, throwing, fielding, and pitching. EREO believes good corporate citizens need to give back to the community,” Duncan says. “The baseball clinic would not have been possible without the volunteer efforts of EXIT Realty associates from EXIT Realty Matrix offices in Orleans and Embrun, Ontario, and Regional Owner AJ Plant, who paid to reserve the pro baseball facility. Special thanks to local councillor, Tim Tierney, in supplying the BBQ items, Alan Martel, for the BBQ, and the volunteer baseball coaches to instruct the players.”

Parents bringing their children to the clinic were asked to donate $5 if they were able to go towards the Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard. EREO hopes that the event not only raised money but also awareness of the need for the food pantry in their community.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. The team at EREO raised $417.25 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match for a total donation of $834.50 to the Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard.

“Thank you once again for including the Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard TGEFC) as partners at your baseball event. We are very grateful to the participants who helped out their neighbours by donating and to you for matching the amount,” said Erin O’Manique, Executive Director of Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard.
