“One of my best friend’s daughters, so very unexpectedly, died by suicide. I want to help him, his wife and son and the non-profit organization they created to erase the societal stigmatism of mental health conditions so that at least one person will feel comfortable enough to divulge their feelings to seek help. Hopefully, Sarah’s Village can save at least one life,” tells Jeff Gordon, Broker/Owner of EXIT Assurance Realty in Groton, MA of why he and his team chose to support this organization.
Jeff held a Facebook fundraiser and they collected cash or checks at the office following video campaigns requesting donations and also deducted 1% from willing agents’ gross commission for each deal over $1000.00.
“EXIT’s contributions to the Sarah’s Village Foundation were focused on the Easton and Norton School
Systems. The contributions in Norton, thus far, have been used for counseling from Epione Health & Wellness, with 12 students currently receiving counseling,” says Jeff, “Epione has also provided a course for 8th grade students to build skills to reduce their stress and increase their success. This class will be given to 7th graders during 2023. Easton has used their grant money, thus far, to bring in speakers from Minding Your Mind to support the Health & Wellness curriculum for 7th and 10th graders. They also plan to use 2023 contributions to support the activities of the newly formed Active Minds club at the Easton High school.”
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Jeff and his team of professionals hoped to raise $1,500, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they greatly exceeded their goal and raised $4,645.67 for a total donation of $6,145.67 to Sarah’s Village.
