“Utah Honor Flight is a local group that facilitates taking Veterans of the United States Military to visit the memorials in Washington, DC and to be honored by members of Congress with a special dinner.
“This past year my wife, Sarah, had the opportunity to be a chaperone to one of the veterans. The experience for her was one of perspective and admiration for these men and women who served our country so long ago. To be able to witness them being honored was such a humbling experience for her. I have in my family, veterans who have passed away and never had the opportunity to be honored by our country in such a way since they returned home from service. Being able to give this opportunity to others and their families is really quite priceless. Remembering the service of those who put their lives on the line for our country is something that needs to be passed on to the next generation. Being able to share in this fundraiser with my children is also a large part of why it was chosen,” tells James Gedge, Sales Associate with EXIT Realty Success in West Jordan, UT.
The Fundraiser started with an online campaign and ended with a reverse pop-by event with clients of EXIT Realty Success Agents coming to the office to receive a pie from local bakeries. Most, if not all clients brought donations to the event.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. James and the team at EXIT Realty Success raised $1,600, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match for a total donation of $3,200 to Utah Honor Flight.
“We appreciate EXIT associates for their donation. Our cost to take each Veteran on their Honor Flight is approximately $1,000. We appreciate the donation and your support of our program,” said Stephanie Harmon, Chairperson, Utah Honor Flight.
This is so awesome! I have a son who just retired from the USMC after serving for 22 years. What a great idea!!!
