“The late Sharon Shortt, previous owner of EXIT Realty Group, Brokerage asked me to spearhead this project a few years ago. Respect for such an amazing leader whom I chose to work with has kept me involved. Each year that I have participated I believe we have increased awareness of children’s needs in our community and efforts have increased the number of children that are benefiting from such a wonderful program,” said Marylou Frost, Sales Representative with EXIT Realty Group, Brokerage in Trenton, ON, of why she continues to support Kinsmen Club of Trenton in their community toy drive.
The fundraiser was a dance held at the Trenton Arena Hall with a popular local band supplying the music. Sponsors also received mention in a program given to each person who purchased a ticket. Posters were printed and posted at local businesses to increase attendance.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Marylou and her team of professionals hoped to raise $3,000, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded their goal and raised $3045, for a total donation of $6,045 to Kinsmen Club of Trenton for their community toy drive.
“Marylou Frost was inspirational in spearheading this event and able to raise money that will all go back to our community through the purchase of gifts for children under 12 years of age. Last year we provided 416 children with gifts, which when purchased would average over $90 per child. With a definite growing need in our community, we at the Kinsmen club appreciate everything that Marylou has done for us in helping us serve our community’s greatest need,” said Ed Newbery, Kinsmen Club of Trenton.
