The EXIT and Habitat: Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program made an impact recently when one brave EXIT Associate rappelled down Biloxi’s IP Casino Resort Spa, one of the tallest structures along the gulf coast of the United States, to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
When the opportunity to participate in the “Hang Out with Habitat” event was brought to the attention of EXIT Realty of Mississippi Regional Owners, Kathy and Troy Dooley, they wasted no time in looking for an EXIT Realty associate who might be willing to take the plunge. Tiffany Burgess, Broker/Owner of EXIT Magnolia Coast Realty stepped right up. “We didn’t have to look far,” said Troy. “Tiffany is passionate about Habitat.”
“Tiffany had her work cut out for her,” said Kathy. To be eligible to rappel over the side of the IP Casino, participants had to each raise $1,000 in a very short period of time. “Tiffany used her marketing skills to get the word out and was able to hit that goal within a few days.”
Application was then made to EXIT Realty Corp. International’s new matching program whereby EXIT Associates anywhere in North America can work in conjunction with their local Habitat for Humanity office to raise funds for a specific project or initiative and submit a proposal for those funds to be matched dollar-for-dollar from EXIT Realty’s pledged pool of funds to Habitat for Humanity International. Tiffany’s $1,000 fund raising effort was doubled.
“Even though Tiffany is the youngest owner in the Region she accepted the challenge and made us all proud,” said Troy.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is pledged to its charity of choice, and to-date $3 Million has been pledged to Habitat for Humanity.
