Dream Big Dreams for 2018

A commentary by Tami Bonnell, CEO, EXIT Realty Corp. International

The year is drawing to a close.  It’s the perfect time to pause, reflect and review how the year progressed in relation to the goals you made at the outset.  What worked? What needs improvement?  Did you meet your goals, surpass them or come up short?  What needs to change; you or your plan? If you haven’t done so already, roll up your sleeves and get to work on your business plan.  Now is your best opportunity to build a more solid foundation for 2018.

As business professionals, we typically have 12 to 25 influencers including those people who work on our business but not in it, our mentors, those people who consistently refer business to us and those whose counsel we seek.  Connect with them, thank them, make a point to get to know them on a more personal level.   Create a special Facebook list just for them so you can be aware of what’s going on in their lives and engage with them on a regular basis using a healthy mix of video, social media, personal notes and face-to-face so you are always connecting.  Remember their birthdays and anniversaries.  Make your interactions as personal as you can. People want to matter.

When you’ve completed your business plan, share your goals and dreams with the people closest to you, your group of influencers and all your past clients.  Doing so will nudge you out of your comfort zone and help to keep you accountable.  After all, it’s a lot easier to give up on a goal when no one but you knows about it.   Dream big dreams and set realistic, achievable goals towards their realization.

2018 might just be the year all your dreams come true.  Here’s to your success!
