In November, Lynn Buckway, sales representative with EXIT Realty Success in West Jordan, UT, hosted a community fundraiser at his office to support Free a Girl Foundation USA. This charity helps rescue trafficked children.
The local community was invited by newsletter, email, text message, and social media (Instagram and Facebook) to the office annual pie event. Supporters were able to donate by check, Venmo, or cash. As a small thank-you, donors received a pie and were also entered into a raffle if they donated $10 or more.
Many attendees also brought items to support the Utah Food Bank, making it a meaningful day of giving on multiple levels. Thanks to the generosity of clients, friends, and local community, they raised a total of $871, with 18 contributors. For the Utah Food Bank, they were able to collect 6 shopping carts of food, totaling 742 total pounds.
Every dollar donated helps take a stand against child exploitation and supports efforts that provide resources for rescue, access to justice, and empowerment for survivors.
“We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who donated and showed up with a heart to help. Knowing these funds can play a part in rescuing and supporting even one child makes every effort worth it. Thank you to our community, to everyone who supported the Utah Food Bank, and to EXIT for helping us extend the impact even further,” Lynn said.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Lynn was able to raise $871 for his initiative, which EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match for a total donation of $1,742 to Free a Girl USA.
