Raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Motivated by a personal connection, I sought to make a difference by supporting LLS’s mission of fighting blood cancers through research, advocacy, and patient services.
My sister’s fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, not once, but twice was my driving force. Understanding the impact of even a single dollar on advancing treatments and supporting patients drove my determination to contribute meaningfully.
My team organized an online fundraising event through Kendra Scott. We ended the online fundraising event with a live, in-house event with beverages and snacks to enjoy while they were shopping. Most of our efforts were through just plain old fashioned “asks”. We sent emails, made phone calls and had flyers to hand out at social events. We raised $13,529.05 total with our EXIT agents raising $3327.53 of that.
Fundraising wasn’t without obstacles, from slow progress to logistical issues. However, each challenge strengthened my resolve and taught me valuable lessons about adaptability and perseverance.
The community’s support was overwhelming, with donations, volunteering, and shared stories from survivors and families. Their encouragement reinforced the importance of the cause.
The funds raised supported vital research and patient services. This journey taught me the value of empathy, collaboration, and gratitude, while deepening my connection to those affected by blood cancers.
Though specific campaigns have concluded, my commitment to LLS remains steadfast. I hope my efforts inspire others to take action, knowing that every contribution helps bring hope and progress to those in need.
Raising funds for LLS has been transformative, showing me the strength of the human spirit and the power of collective action. I am honored to have been part of this fight and will continue to support the cause in any way I can.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Patti and her team raised $13,529.05, with an additional donation of $3,000 from EXIT’s head office for a total donation of $16,529.05 to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
