Bikers and The Spirit of EXIT Work Together to Benefit Veterans

Imagine a team of fundraisers using motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, horses and on foot visiting checkpoints to play poker and you’ll have a picture of the Bikers 4 Veterans event held by EXIT Select Realty in Fort Myers, Florida, to benefit the Affordable Homeownership Foundation.

According to their website, the mission of the Affordable Homeownership Foundation is “to help the economically vulnerable veterans, seniors, and youth aging out of foster care. To also aid disabled and homeless individuals in the very low and low-to-moderate income area of our region achieve financial literacy, attain housing stability and/or homeownership, participate in the American dream, and contribute to more stable vital neighborhoods. To create this transition, AFH offers advocacy, education, counseling, and work to increase the availability of safe, decent, affordable housing opportunities.”

A portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. The team at EXIT Select Realty raised money through entrance fees for the poker run and by the sale of raffle tickets and raised $2,780, which EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match for a total donation to the Affordable Homeownership Foundation of $5,560.

“It was simple to choose this charitable organization to donate to because at EXIT Select Realty we believe in taking care of our veterans. We all have had family members who have served or are currently serving in our country’s military,” said Marisa Capellan-Battle, Administrator at EXIT Select Realty. “One of the best features of the Veteran’s Assistance Fund is all funds will stay local.”
