Blessed to Help: The Spirit of EXIT Benefits Jacksonville’s Gabriel House of Care

Once per quarter each year, the agents of EXIT 1 Stop Realty in Jacksonville, Florida, prepare, serve and clean up dinner for thirty to forty cancer and organ transplant patients at Gabriel House of Care, an organization that provides temporary lodging for people who come to Jacksonville for medical treatment. “Individuals can stay at Gabriel House before and/or after surgery for free if they don’t have the means to pay for a room. It is a house of care to allow patients to heal,” says Dave Coppock, Broker of Record of EXIT 1 Stop Realty.

A portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Recently the team at EXIT 1 Stop Realty applied to EXIT’s head office to match the funds they raised by soliciting donations in support of Gabriel House. They raised $2,000, which was matched by the Spirit of EXIT program resulting in a donation to Gabriel House of $4,000.

“Gabriel House is run completely on donations and we at EXIT 1 Stop Realty are very passionate about helping these individuals,” says Coppock. “We started eight years ago and have raised over $250,000 for their cause and several other charities. The patients staying at Gabriel house are so grateful to have someone that they don’t even know, cook, feed and clean up after them as they are going through the most traumatic event in their lives. We feel so blessed to be able to help them.”
