Some of EXIT Realty’s top Franchisees, Managers, Regional Owners and Executives gathered in Chicago recently for Master Broker Summit, the company’s advanced workshop on leading a strong real estate brokerage.
The focus of this session was building and to that end, special guest speaker, Judy LaDeur, was on hand for the full first day to share ideas for attracting (and keeping) top agents. LaDeur began her real estate career in 1975 and in 1981 after a successful sales career, she joined the management team where she developed her own recruiting and training systems. By 1984, she was the Director of Recruiting for a large, 4-office firm in Chicago, and their #1 recruiter. She went on to train other Brokers across the US and Canada in the area of recruiting and retention of real estate agents. LaDeur has been a featured speaker at the EXIT Realty Corp. International Convention.
Day Two featured four of EXIT’s top Broker/Owners. Nick Libert, Broker/Owner of EXIT Strategy Realty in Illinois presented “My Winning Interview Process”. Ed Andrews, Broker/Owner of EXIT Real Estate Solutions in Tennessee shared his best practices for getting to the heart of what motivates someone to make a switch. Tashia McGinn, Broker/Owner of EXIT Prestige Luxury Realty in Mississippi explained how she positioned her office as the brokerage of choice in her community by using social media. Susan Hamblen, Broker/Owner of EXIT Realty Achieve in New York is a master of creating a culture that naturally fosters her agents’ desire to invite others to join and she shared how to create that winning atmosphere.

This was such a great summit. I remember when we opened our office, we were at a loss as to where to start, how to recruit, train, and mentor. It was through events such as this that we learned and have grown to where we are now. We were happy to give back to others. Even though we have owned the brokerage for approximately 10 years now, we are still learning and improving. As time changes, so do the needs of our offices, so we will continue to invest time in these summits, as well as Broker Owner Training in Canada on a regular basis.
