Debbie and Mike Murdock, Owners of EXIT Realty Pro in Canton, TX supported Children’s Advocacy Center of Van Zandt County (CACVZ) in a special way. The CACVZC provides assistance to law enforcement as well as support and resources for child victims and their non-offending family members.
“The Children’s Advocacy Center of Van Zandt County has held a special place in our hearts for many years. Their presence in our community has been a valuable asset. This year we decided to support CACVZ by raising funds in a new and creative way where all our agents could be included. EXIT Realty Pro agents were asked to submit a personal or family recipe for the construction of ‘Tastes of EXIT Realty Pro: From Our Family to Yours,’ a cookbook,” said the Murdocks.
In addition to their Community Health Fair and Food Drive hosted annually, they were able to offer the cookbook to locals interested in contributing to CACVZ and their mission, while receiving a unique piece of EXIT Realty Pro and their families.
The team sold 345 cookbooks with the money raised going to a variety of services including forensic interviews or therapy for sexual abuse, physical abuse, child neglect, and child witnesses to violent crimes. The non-profit also offers preventative outreach programs for both children and adults, direct care and assistance for those already victimized, and essentials like food, clothing, diapers, comforting toys, hygiene items, shelter, and bedding.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. EXIT Realty Pro raised $1,894.05, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $3,788.10 to Children’s Advocacy Center of Van Zandt County.
“Thank you for assisting us in our efforts. Our mission remains the same as the day that we opened our doors- to serve the abused and neglected children of Van Zandt County. Only through the continued generosity of those such as you, can the Center continue to grow and add much needed services and programs for children in need,” said Sharyn Casey, Executive Director of CACVZ.
