The community dropped by Lowe’s Home Improvement in Dover Delaware this June for EXIT Central Realty’s Hearts for Homes cash and materials drive benefiting Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity.
The public was encouraged to check the shopping list online and bring not only donations of cash but also materials needed to equip volunteers and help build homes. Jocelyn Tice, Interim Development Director for Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity said, “By partnering with iHeart Radio, this event created an awareness and educated Kent County and New Castle County about the work that Habitat is doing as well as the needs in order to continue the mission. Most fundraisers typically raise money which is needed to support the mission and we need volunteers to help build the homes, but we can’t build the homes if we don’t have materials or the proper equipment for the volunteers.”
A portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities, including Habitat for Humanity, and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Michele Bilow, Broker of Record of EXIT Central Realty with locations in Dover and Milford, Delaware, headed the EXIT Realty team which raised $3,567.27. EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match those funds for a total donation to Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity of $7,134.54.
“EXIT Central Realty Hearts for Homes was an amazing event and created a new partnership between EXIT and Habitat for Humanity locally,” said Tice.
