EXIT Leading Edge Realty and the Spirit of EXIT, Doubling Impact with Golf Tournament

Januari Coates, Broker/Owner of EXIT Leading Edge Realty in Stafford, VA is well known for her work helping those in her community. One organization in particular holds a special place in her heart, The Thurman Brisben Center. The Brisben Center not only provides shelter to those facing homelessness, but also offers accountability-based management plans to help people get back on their feet.

To Januari, this isn’t just any shelter, it’s one she lived in at age 19 that has truly helped shape the person she is today. She has been returning the favor for many years, “Ms. Januari Coates of your Stafford, Virginia office is an extraordinary benefactor of the Thurman Brisben Center. For several years, Ms. Coates has provided, free of charge, hundreds of shelter meals, in addition to generous financial contributions. Moreover, she offers her expertise as a REALTOR® as we address the challenges our clientele face in this region of high housing costs and low availability,” says David Cooper, CEO of The Brisben Center. As if that wasn’t enough, this May Januari also sponsored holes and helped raise money for their 2nd Annual Brisben Invitational Charity Golf Tournament.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Januari and her team raised $2,865 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $5,730 to The Thurman Brisben Center.

“I want to thank you, $2,865 goes a long way with us. For 28 days, it provides a mother and two children with safe, clean, and dignified emergency shelter, case management, employment assistance, health screenings, children’s tutoring, a mentor for 12+ months post-shelter, and much more. Very often, these are exactly what is needed for the family to get back on their feet,” says Mr. Cooper.
