Joe Garcia, Franchisee of EXIT Permian Basin Realty located in Odessa, TX, and his team of real estate professionals, raised money to support Midland Habitat for Humanity. Midland Habitat for Humanity is a branch of the international organization that serves the community by building homes and hope.
Joe serves on the board of directors for his local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, so it seemed a clear choice for why he chose the non-profit. “Midland Habitat for Humanity makes it possible for people to own a home by building homes and providing zero interest loans – that makes it possible for families that would normally not be able to own or afford a home to become homeowners,” he said.
Habitat offered wall studs for $50 on which a blessing or message of encouragement could be written and then the studs would be incorporated into a Habitat for Humanity home. Joe’s office collected $50 from participating agents’ closings to pay for these studs. Though they weren’t able to launch the initiative to the public due to COVID, he hopes to make it an annual event.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. The team at EXIT Permian Basin Realty raised $2,500 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $5,000 to Midland Habitat for Humanity.
“This has been an incredibly unpredictable year, and your contribution will help us continue to fight for our cause and help change lives through affordable homeownership. Thank you for helping provide hope and opportunity,” said Joey Hopkins, Executive Director of Midland Habitat for Humanity.
Thanks for the nice write up
Joe
