The “Send A Friend A Goat” campaign is a week-long event where teams of “goat wranglers” take baby goats to visit folks for whom a “goating” has been purchased ahead of time, or to anyone they know the day they are wrangling, in an effort to raise funds. The recipients can play with the goat(s), take pictures, then make a donation to Wishing Star. They can also purchase “goat insurance” to make sure no one else can “goat” them again during the week and/or make another donation to send the goat on to someone else.
Our EXIT team, comprised of Broker/Franchise Owner Sabrina Jones-Schroeder, Associates Stephanie Jones, Greg Coelho, Becky (Rebecah) Lakman and Laura Branning, wrangled a goat for an entire day (April 23rd). We drove all over Spokane making people smile with our 10-day old goat “Basil”.
Once we received the approval from the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program to move forward with our initiative, we produced material for our social media accounts and gave it to all our Associates to put on their accounts also, as well as mailing it to their spheres of influence. As we do not have a huge social media following, the majority of our “promotion” came from the “cold calling” our team did. We were so excited to let the folks we called on know that, in addition to their donations, our team was able to offer them a bigger “bang for their buck” because our corporate office at EXIT Realty Corp. International would be matching those funds if we met our goal! And, boy, did they respond! We are thrilled to report that we were able to reach our $3,000.00 goal! (Actually, $3,124.00, but who’s counting?)
The Wishing Star Foundation has been granting wishes to local kids ages 3-21 who are terminal or battling a life-threatening illness since 1983. Unlike other wish granting charities, however, Wishing Star’s help doesn’t stop there. They also have other programs that support the kids and their entire family such as the Christmas Wish Program and the Beyond the Wish Program. It is their hope to continually support these families in need during what is, arguably, their most challenging time. As they like to say, “Once a wish family, always a wish family!” It’s for these reasons the EXIT Real Estate Professionals team is proud to support this most worthy charity.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds
