The EXIT Realty Advantage Golf Tournament in Fredericton, NB, for Inclusion NB exceeded all expectations, defying the forecasted inclement weather and delivering an exceptional day of golf for a worthy cause. The participants’ resilience, the unexpected turn of weather, and the display of sportsmanship during the coin toss after a tie breaking finish, created a truly unforgettable experience.
Inclusion NB works with people with developmental and intellectual challenges and that hit very close to home for a few of the associates in our office for whom Inclusion NB has been a great source of support over the years. People are not always aware of the strain on a household and on the other family members surrounding people with these challenges and Inclusion NB supports the whole family in so many ways. They help schools to include these people, not only in daily activities, but also or those activities outside of school by providing the apparatus and personnel they need.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to support Inclusion NB’s Family Support Program which helps families to access necessary supports and services within their community through assistance navigating complex systems, resource sharing, training, and advocacy. Their facilitators support individuals and families to identify goals, get connected to their community, and exercise their right to live a life they choose with the supports they need.
Ultimately, the event’s success was measured not only by the exhilarating competition but by the funds raised for Inclusion NB and the positive change it will bring to the lives of individuals with disabilities, fostering inclusivity, and promoting a more accepting community. The tournament left an indelible mark, reminding us all of the power of unity, sportsmanship, and the joy of giving back to the community.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. EXIT Realty Advantage hoped to raise $2,500, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they far exceeded their goal and raised an astounding $6,700 for a total donation of $9,200 to Inclusion NB.
“Your financial support is greatly appreciated. Your donation will allow us to reach out to children and adults who have an intellectual disability and their families, to provide the support they need. For that, we could never thank you enough,” says Sarah Wagner, Executive Director, Inclusion NB.
