My grand opening was supported by many local businesses that donated their beautiful and unique items for auction. My brother, who recently passed, also added two Steelers tickets. These were 40-yard line seats, one of the best seats to watch the game and hear what the team is saying. We were able to raise money through the raffle items and general donations.
I chose the North Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program in Hendersonville as an important nonprofit that helps to train adults to recognize and support the counties children who may be at risk. At the time of my grand opening, there were 60+ children who were identified as at risk and there was no one available to help them. Since then, they’ve had a resurgence of new volunteers, as well as more training programs.
Being orphaned at an early age, I know the value of having a helping hand and how it can make a difference in one’s life. I hope that I am always available to be there.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Melissa and her team raised $1,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $2,000 to the North Carolina Guardian ad Litem.
“Thank you for your generous donation. These funds will be used to recruit, train, and retain our volunteers, the heart of our program, as they are the people who invest in the lives of the children we serve,” said Lee Bradley, District Administer, NC Guardian ad Litem.
