By Jonathan Lum, Broker/Owner of EXIT Realty Home Partners in Lansing, MI
I am a member of the Board of Directors and have volunteered at Allen Neighborhood Center for over a decade. This non-profit organization has helped bring resources and stabilization to the neighborhood that I grew up in and the wider community through their work in health, housing, and food security.
This year I raised funds to help support one of Allen Neighborhood Center’s newer programs: Take Root Garden Club, which is a gardening and nutrition education program for youth, age 5-10 years old. During program sessions, members of Take Root share a healthy snack and participate in lessons and activities that explore food, gardening, plants, and community.
The money we raised will help pay for supplies to support this program. Members are children from several Title 1 schools that are active in the after-school programs at Foster Community Center. We were able to raise money through our program that allows EXIT associates to donate a portion of their commissions to fundraising initiatives.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Jonathan and his team raised $585.92 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match for a total donation of $1171.84 to Allen Neighborhood Center.
