On September 8, 2022, EXIT Realty Homeward Bound conducted our 15th Annual Charity Golf Outing to benefit Broome County Habitat for Humanity. Since this event was started by Thomas Reid and me, it has grown into one of the most anticipated charity events in the area and has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. This is the second year in a row that the golf outing has sold out.
Last year another event was added to help raise even more money for the charity – a silent auction the night before. The silent auction also incorporates a training with EXIT Realty’s Director of Engagement, Annette Anthony, for the local agents. This event has turned into a huge success with items being donated by multiple individuals for the auction.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Robert and his team hoped to raise $10,000, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they raised $10,324.69 for a total donation of $20,324.69 to Broome County Habitat for Humanity.
“It is only through the faithful and continued charitable giving of our community that we can give families in Broome and Tioga Counties a hand up by helping them move out of substandard housing. Thank you again for assisting us as we continue to build homes and community. Together, we are building more than houses,” said Mari Giurastante, Executive Director of Broome County Habitat for Humanity.
