EXIT Realty Matrix, Brokerage and the Spirit of EXIT Bring Holiday Cheer to Homeless Women

Josée Beriault, Branch Manager of EXIT Realty Matrix, Brokerage in Hawkesbury, Ontario wanted to help women who are often forgotten during the holiday season, so she rallied the agents in the office to raise funds for The Shoebox Project. The Shoebox Project is a charity started by four sisters-in-law who noticed that there were regular gift and donation drives to benefit children living in shelters during the holidays but few to none for their mothers and the other women living there.

Typically, people are able to donate shoeboxes filled with specific wish list items for individuals in need or even volunteer to help create these boxes, however due to restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic the charity asked that monetary or gift card donations be made instead.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Josée and the EXIT Realty Matrix, Brokerage team raised $1,000 (exclusive of gift cards) which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $2,000 to The Shoebox Project.

“We at The Shoebox Project are continually humbled by the generosity of donors like yourself. Thank you for your support, and we hope that you will continue with us on our journey to spread comfort, compassion and hope to some of the strongest and most resilient women in our community,” said Julie Seguin, Hawkesbury Local Coordinator for The Shoebox Project.
