Our chosen charity, Family & Youth Counseling, CASA Division, holds a special place in our hearts. The connection was established in 2021 when one of our owners met a member of the organization at a local networking event. Upon learning about the critical need for advocates in the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, we were deeply moved and knew we needed to get involved.
We initiated Cheers for CASA, an annual fundraising event to supply stuffed animals for the CASA program. These stuffed animals serve as more than just comfort items; they are tangible symbols of hope and reassurance for children who have experienced unimaginable trauma. As these children navigate the daunting task of testifying about their experiences, whether to local authorities, Family & Youth Counseling, their appointed CASA volunteer, or the court, these stuffed animals provide a source of comfort and strength.
The event took place at the Downtown Historic City Hall located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. There was a buffet style dinner, a private bar with signature cocktails, a live band, donated items for the ticket-drop style auction and photobooths for attendees to take pictures and share.
Our fundraising efforts relied on a combination of strategies and generous support from our community. We were fortunate to have dedicated donors who contributed at different tiers providing essential support to facilitate the success of our fundraiser. Additionally, we welcomed monetary donations from attendees at their discretion. Furthermore, we are grateful for the generosity of our food and drink vendors who pledged to donate a percentage of their proceeds, further bolstering our fundraising efforts.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. EXIT Realty Southern hoped to raise $4,500, which EXIT’s head office proudly agreed to match, however they raised $4,934.55 for a total donation of $9,434.55 to Family & Youth Counseling, CASA Division.
“EXIT Realty Southern associates are passionate about supporting this cause because of the need it meets for our communities. While most of us our fortunate to have never experienced such abuse and/or neglect, we believe every child has the right to a safe and caring home. The Cheers for CASA event allows us to give back to those who give so much to local kids and families trying to navigate through the court system. To date, EXIT Realty Southern and the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program have raised/donated a total of $38,055.84 through our Cheers for CASA event,” tells Josh Foster, Broker/Owner of EXIT Realty Southern.
