This is the second time that I have offered to put on this event for Corrie’s House. Unfortunately, sex trafficking in our community continues to be a top focus for the FBI with a high incidence of child prostitution in the Twin Cities. I continue to be moved by the work that Corrie’s House does to help provide a stable environment for rescued girls.
The event was held in November and featured a light meal, silent auction, live auction, DJ, and a presentation about Corrie’s House and how they are serving victims in our community.
Corrie’s House continues its work providing services and a safe place to heal for those who have been trapped in the cycle of sex trafficking. All donations benefit the work they do, expenses to run a home, and expanding on the programming they offer. Other expenses they incur include things to provide healing and restoration for survivors like counseling, education, and access to resources.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Jeff and his team hoped to raise $5,000, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded that goal and raised $7,875 for a total donation of $12,875 to Corrie’s House.
“We are pleased to report that the 2022 Corrie’s House Gala and Auction was a great success. This year we had 104 attendees, which is double that of last year! Additionally, attendees left with a greater awareness and understanding of the issue of sex trafficking of minors in the state of Minnesota and the vital role that Corrie’s House will play in helping survivors heal. We are greatly appreciative of the support from EXIT Realty in helping make the Gala a success,” said Abby Thalacker, Executive Director of Corrie’s House.
