EXIT Realty True North Supports Crohns and Colitis Canada with the Gutsy Walk

“I was diagnosed with Colitis when I was 13 years old, and this organization helped me significantly when I was first diagnosed. I initiated the local walk in 2023,” tells Rob Trembinski, sales representative with EXIT Realty True North in Sault Ste. Marie, ON of why he and the office chose to support Crohns and Colitis Canada.

Gutsy Walk is a fun-filled, family-friendly, and non-competitive day to walk in support of those impacted by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) describes a group of conditions, the two main forms of which are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Living with IBD means living a life full of disruptions. That’s the case for over 300,000 Canadians already, and someone new is diagnosed with Crohn’s or colitis every hour.

The team at EXIT Realty True North registered for the Gutsy Walk as a team and raised funds as Team EXIT. Individual members reached out to contacts, friends and family to ask for donations for the walk. Rob also chaired the planning committee for the 2024 Gutsy Walk and did local media requests, stories and marketing.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Rob and Team EXIT hoped to raise $2,000, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded their goal and raised $4,895 for a total donation of $6,895 to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.

“Thanks to companies like EXIT Realty Corp. International, we can build awareness and raise important funds for research. Gutsy Walk has raised over $52 million for groundbreaking research and programs since 1996, all thanks to participants, donors, volunteers, and sponsors who are driven to make a difference. Thank you for your support and we hope to partner again in 2025,” said Nicole Sage, Development & Community Engagement Coordinator Northern Ontario, Crohns and Colitis Canda.
