EXIT Associates across North America continued to tap into the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program throughout 2023 to support the non-profits that speak to their heart.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to company’s charitable fund in the country where it was generated and is distributed through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program. EXIT Associates and brokerages can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to have the money they raise matched from the pool of available funds.
In 2023, there was an increase in support of non-profits serving the community such as food banks and homeless shelters. The categories of non-profits include:
Animals 1.6%
Children 27.4%
Habitat for Humanity 4.9%
Medical Support 14.5%
Cancer 4.9%
Community Support 32.2%
Medical Research 9.6%
Veterans 4.9%
Some of that community support included the victims of wildfires that ravaged areas of both Nova Scotia and Hawaii.
Rick DeLuca, Regional Owner of EXIT Realty Pacific West, launched a fundraiser that hoped to raise $5,000 in support of the Maui Food Bank which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however the fundraiser exceeded that goal and raised $6,282.66 for a total donation of $11,282.66. “Mahalo for your generous donation to help families and neighbors facing hunger in our community with immediate relief and ongoing support as we begin the long road to recovery. Words cannot fully express the significance of your kindness. It is unbelievable to see the devastation caused by the fires that swept across Maui,” said Marlene Rice, Development Director, Maui Food Bank.
In Nova Scotia, Kristopher Snarby, Franchisee of EXIT Realty Inter Lake said, “Over 250 homes were destroyed by the fires, and hundreds of others were left damaged with wells and septic systems being condemned by officials. We chose to support the Canadian Red Cross during this difficult time where one of our offices was directly impacted and all of our agents had to evacuate their homes. The Spirit of EXIT campaign to assist with the Nova Scotia Wildfires was launched in early July and the support from our community was outstanding with over $8,000 being raised in just one week. The Provincial and Federal Governments also matched the $8,000, so that $8,000 became $24,000 and with $5,000 being contributed by EXIT Realty Corp. International through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program – we were pleased to be able to donate $29,000 in total to the Canadian Red Cross to help support those who were affected by the wildfires.”
