EXIT Royal Realty Supports Children in Foster Care with The Teal Project and Help from the Spirit of EXIT

Melissa Hand, Broker/Owner of EXIT Royal Realty in Clanton, AL, and her office hosted an event called The Teal Project, Networking for a Cause to support Raleigh’s Place. “Raleigh’s Place supports children who are in DHR care in Chilton/Shelby Co, AL. They provide and support foster homes, host a free summer camp, provide clothing and other resources, train foster parents, and equip teenage foster youth for life after care,” Melissa explains, “This is something that is very near and dear to the hearts of many of the agents in my office as many have fostered and/or adopted through the local DHR’s.”

Melissa and her team hosted a networking event for agents and others in the real estate industry. They raffled a football signed by Nick Saban, Head Coach at the University of Alabama, a basketball signed by Bruce Pearl, Auburn Tiger’s Head Coach, and had mascots, Aubie and Big Al there for fun at the photo booth. The event was held in the evening with food, drinks, and music as well as a silent auction and door prizes.

Net proceeds will go to Raleigh’s Place toward resources for children in foster care. “Raleigh’s Place has not sought support from local businesses in the past and has the potential to grow when given the opportunity to network with potential partners in their cause. This provided the funds needed to provide resources for children and foster parents, as well as the exposure to the community that this organization needs to take this non-profit to the next level. EXIT Royal Realty wanted to play a huge role in the growth of this organization both financially and by bringing awareness to the charity,” says Melissa.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Melissa and the team hoped to raise $10,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they greatly exceeded their goal and instead raised $20,570 for a total donation of $30,570 to Raleigh’s Place.

“We were thrilled when EXIT Royal Realty approached us about being their sponsored community nonprofit for The Teal Project and we were blown away by the love and support we received. We are thankful for this partnership and hope it blossoms into one that will have a significant impact on the foster children we serve,” said Sharon King, Executive Director of Raleigh’s Place.
