EXIT Realty Inter Lake Utilizes the Spirit of EXIT to Further Fire Relief Fundraiser

In late May, parts of Nova Scotia were devastated by two massive wildfires that quickly grew out of control and threatened the homes of thousands of people. A massive evacuation process began within hours of the first fire in the Halifax area, with thousands of people being displaced. A second fire that was thousands of acres in size also broke out in Southwestern Nova Scotia. The fire raged out of control for weeks and destroyed about 235 square kilometres of forest.
Over 250 homes were destroyed by the fires, and hundreds of others were left damaged with wells and septic systems being condemned by officials. We chose to support the Canadian Red Cross during this difficult time where one of our offices was directly impacted and all of our agents had to evacuate their homes.
The Spirit of EXIT campaign to assist with the Nova Scotia Wildfires was launched in early July and the support from our community was outstanding with over $8,000 being raised in just one week. The Provincial and Federal Governments also matched the $8,000, so that $8,000 became $24,000 and with $5,000 being contributed by EXIT Realty Corp. International through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program – we were pleased to be able to donate $29,000 in total to the Canadian Red Cross to help support those who were affected by the wildfires.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
