Habitat for Humanity in MI Receives Matching Funds from EXIT Realty

Earlier this year, Habitat for Humanity of Lapeer-Tuscola, Michigan held its premier fund-raiser, “The Grape & The Grain”, a gala event featuring samplings of whiskey, wine and food and featuring door prizes and a silent auction.  According to Carolyn Nestor, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Lapeer-Tuscola, volunteers from EXIT Realty Group in Lapeer recruited 14 vendors who contributed a total of $1000.00 for the cost of their booths and also donated items for the silent auction. “EXIT Realty Group made the arrangements for the exclusive location at the Metamora Golf and Country Club, they sold tickets and sponsorships to friends, family, and professional contacts, staffed our on-site ticket sales booth, and acted as hostesses at the event,” said Nestor.

A portion of every transaction fee collected by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund.  Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities, including Habitat for Humanity, and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds.  To-date, EXIT has pledged $4 million to charity.

EXIT Realty Group’s Broker/Owner, Jeanne McCorkle, requested a match of $10,000 which was submitted, and in fact, the money raised at the event exceeded expectations.  A total of $20,762.42 was donated to Habitat for Humanity of Lapeer-Tuscola.

“The efforts of EXIT Realty Group have truly changed lives, and reshaped futures. Thank you so much for your generous support!” said Nestor.
