Huts for Homes: EXIT Agents and Brokers Raise Money for Habitat in the Soo

Brokers and Agents from EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Brokerage recently participated in Huts for Homes to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie & Area’s next home build.

Students from the Building Construction and Maintenance program built six sheds which were raffled in the Huts for Homes event.  Their efforts were part of a program in partnership with Ontario Works, Sault College, The Bushplane Heritage Centre and Habitat Sault Ste. Marie. Students of the program put over 10,700 hours into finishing homes 8 & 9 with the Habitat partner families and went on to build the sheds which were raffled during Huts for Homes.

EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Brokerage applied to the EXIT & Habitat: Dollar-for-Dollar Matching program to match the funds raised from raffle ticket sales.  In total, $4,916 dollars was raised and matched for a total donation to Habitat for Humanity of $9,832.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is pledged to its non-profit organization of choice, and to-date $3.5 million dollars has been pledged to Habitat for Humanity.  Through the EXIT & Habitat: Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT Realty’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity can potentially reach every community where an EXIT office exists. EXIT Associates anywhere in North America can work in conjunction with their local Habitat for Humanity office to raise funds for a specific project or initiative and submit a proposal to EXIT Realty Corp. International for those funds to be matched dollar-for-dollar from EXIT Realty’s pledged pool of funds to Habitat for Humanity International.

“Community support of the draw was incredible! Lots of people were happy to know that even if they didn’t win, it was an investment to build homes for local families,” said Sandi Wheeler, Resource Development Manager for the Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie & Area ReStore.
