Januari Coates, Broker/Owner of EXIT Leading Edge Realty with offices in Stafford and Dumfries, Virginia, and Washington DC, is an avid supporter of The Thurman Brisben Center, an organization dedicated to providing shelter to those facing homelessness as well as accountability-based management plans to help people get back on their feet. David Cooper, CEO of the non-profit explains, “For several years, Ms. Coates has provided, free of charge, hundreds of shelter meals, in addition to generous financial contributions. Moreover, she offers her expertise as a REALTOR® as we address the challenges our clientele face in this region of high housing costs and low availability. In 2021, she joined our board of directors in guiding the organization toward the achievement of its mission.
“On May 23, we hosted our 3rd Annual Brisben Invitational Charity Golf Tournament, and Ms. Coates solicited $3,000 of the total raised for the Brisben Center’s shelter and services. The $3,000 gift will provide a mother and two children with safe, clean, and dignified emergency shelter, case management, employment assistance, health screenings, children’s tutoring, a mentor for 12+ months post-shelter, and much more. Very often, these are exactly what is needed for the family to get back on their feet.”
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International id applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. EXIT’s head office was proud to match the $3,000 raised by Januari, for a total donation of $6,000 to The Thurman Brisben Center.
