Jeanette Tighe, Executive Assistant to Tami Bonnell, CEO of EXIT Realty Corp. International, was recently honored with the Andrew Hickey Distinguished Service Award by the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®.
“This award was established in 2006 to honor local REALTORS® who provide lengthy and dedicated service to our association, and readily answer the call to promote our industry and the real estate profession,” said John Dulczewski, the Association’s Executive Vice President. “Recipients are recognized as prominent leaders within the REALTOR® Association, real estate industry, and their local community. In addition, their enthusiasm and spirit serve to inspire their fellow REALTORS®.”
In his announcement of the honor, Mr. Dulczewski described some of Jeanette’s many contributions to the real estate industry. “She has been a REALTOR® since 1986 and she continues to share her wisdom, experience and time volunteering on association committees, communicating the REALTOR® position on important public policy issues to legislators, and supporting charitable initiatives that positively impact local residents and promote REALTORS® as good neighbors in the community.
“A past president and director at the local level, Jeanette also served as a Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Regional Vice President and has held multiple terms as a MAR State Director, most recently serving on the MAR Board of Directors each year since 2017. Collectively, over the course of her career, she served on no less than two dozen local and state REALTOR® association committees, having chaired at least a half dozen of them. She served in all leadership positions for the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Northern Region Chapter, holding the title of president in 1999, and has served as a director for the state WCR chapter as well.
“Jeanette is known for her benevolent nature and political activism and is a major investor in the REALTORS® Political Action Committee, has served on the Massachusetts RPAC Board of Trustees, and was the NAR Federal Political Coordinator to former Massachusetts Congressman John Tierney. Additionally, she has helped to plan and volunteer at numerous REALTOR® fundraising events for local charities, most notably helping to create an annual fundraiser to support Angel Flight, an organization that helps cancer patients get to and from their medical appointments.
“As a broker, Jeanette has been a vocal proponent of effective enforcement of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, and the importance of on-going education and training for real estate licensees to advance in their career. On this latter point she has led by example, earning the Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations, among others.
“Jeanette is a Greater Boston Real Estate Board Life Member, was named Massachusetts REALTOR® of the Year in 2000, and was awarded the MAR Private Property Rights Award in 2013 for her advocacy efforts to promote home ownership and the preservation of property rights.”
Jeanette is a key member of the EXIT Realty Corp. International headquarters team, working closely with CEO, Tami Bonnell, since 2004. “Jeanette has generously shared her expertise during her entire real estate career, as well as donating time and money to the industry and special causes,” said Tami. “She is so deserving of this honor.”
