Karina Mermis, sales associate with EXIT Home Key Realty in Patchogue, NY held an online fundraiser for Nassau Suffolk Autism Society of America (NSASA). NSASA is an organization of parents with children and adults with autism spectrum disorders that serve over 4,000 families on Long Island.
When asked why she wanted to support this specific organization Karina said, “My son has autism and there is such a large community here in New York with children on the spectrum.” The fundraiser was held from April 1st through April 30th on Go Fund Me as April is Autism Awareness month.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Karina raised $4,947.27, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $9,894.54 to Nassau Suffolk Autism Society of America.
