Robert Schwendel and Tony Dean, sales representatives with EXIT Realty Premier in Massapequa, NY and co-founders of Pink Cans 4 Cancer worked tirelessly at their annual golf outing fundraiser held in May. Pink Cans 4 Cancer is a nonprofit that collects cans, bottles, and donations to raise awareness for breast cancer while also helping save the planet one can at a time.
Funds were raised by selling sponsorships and the event was quite the success. “One can CAN make a difference!,” said Robert “We had over 120 golfers, New York Mets legends, John Franco and Matt Harvey, and over 40 volunteers, as well as an additional 65 dinner only guests. This was the largest turnout for any Pink Cans 4 Cancer fundraiser! In this year’s outing we had a women’s professional golfer compete against all the groups in a closest-to-the-pin contest to raise additional money for Pink Cans 4 Cancer. She was only beaten by two groups and it was amazing to watch her swing.”
This is the fourth time since 2018 the charity has benefited from the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program. A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Robert and Tony raised an outstanding $51,433.80 and with EXIT’s added $5,000 they were able to give $56,433.80 to Pink Cans 4 Cancer.
