The Spirit of EXIT at Work in Michigan to Help Reduce Veteran Suicides

Last fall, Holly Hack, Broker/Owner and the Associates of EXIT Realty Paramount in Traverse City, Michigan, embraced 22 2 None, an organization committed to reducing the rate of suicide among veterans.  “Raising money for 22 2 None has truly been a team effort with everyone in our office lending a hand to raise awareness for this cause,” she said.

On Friday, September 21st and Friday, November 16th, 22 2 None participated in Swingshift and The Stars, a dance competition and fundraiser.  Marilyn Taylor, a top-producing sales representative with EXIT Realty Paramount, danced in the competition.  Other fundraising activities included donation jars and the sale of 22 2 None apparel.  “We partnered with veteran-favorite Brady’s Bar to host an evening of fun and they enthusiastically donated $1 from the sale of several of their best-selling beverages that night,” said Holly.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund.  Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and Associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds.  EXIT Realty Paramount anticipated raising $7,500 and requested EXIT’s Head Office to match that amount.  Everyone was delighted when their efforts raised $14,429.30 and with the match from EXIT’s Head Office of $7,500, a total donation of $21,929.30 was made to 22 2 None.

“It is our mission to stop the inconceivable number of veterans who take their own lives by reaching out, searching for, and supporting those who have sacrificed themselves both physically and mentally for this country, and now fight a daily inner battle with demons no one can see,” said Ray McDaniel, Executive Secretary, 22 2 None.

“Thank you to our EXIT Corporate family and the people of Northern Michigan for coming out in support of this amazing organization,” said Holly.  “Together we were able to give back to those who’ve given all.”
