Turkeys for 100 Families Thanks to EXIT Navigator Realty and the Spirit of EXIT

After hearing that Catholic Social Services of Robertsdale had struggled to have enough turkeys for holiday meals since the pandemic, Rebecca Orange, Administrator and Courtney Cathers, Broker/Owner of EXIT Navigator Realty, sprung into action. Catholic Social Services explained how they help any families that are in need which inspired Rebecca to suggest they support this organization during a team meeting. Everyone was in agreement that this would be the best place to lead their community efforts during the holiday season.

Rebecca, Courtney, and the team at EXIT Navigator Realty hosted a silent auction where they contacted local businesses to see what they might wish to donate towards the cause. Catholic Social Services explained they needed 100 turkeys for Thanksgiving and 100 more for Christmas. The response from local businesses was nothing short of amazing.

The team also partnered with a local grocery store to make sure they had turkeys reserved. They had many items donated towards the silent auction as well as monetary donations. Though the group bidding was small, they were still able to raise just enough for 100 turkeys! With a nod to NCAA football and to make each donation more fun, they were labeled either ‘Alabama’ or ‘Auburn’ to see which team could raise more “Turkey Money” with Auburn being the winner.

“We plan to continue this effort into next year and as long as there is a need. With everything going on in the world our team at EXIT Navigator Realty was honored to do a small part to help our local families enjoy a homemade holiday meal they will remember for years to come,” Courtney said.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. The team at EXIT Navigator Realty raised $2,051.61, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $4,103.22 to Catholic Social Services.

“With your donation, we were able to provide 100 families with a turkey and a box of food to complete their Thanksgiving meal. Your donation will help us continue our mission to serve our clients,” said Phyllis Beam, Director of Catholic Social Services.
