Susan Meyer, sales representative with EXIT Realty Dyersville in Iowa, led a team of real estate professionals in a lively fundraising event for Wounded Warrior Project. Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a nonprofit that offers a multitude of services and programs for veterans and their families all at no cost to the veteran.
Susan and the team held a “Bartending for the Cause” event at Smokey’s, a local restaurant and bar. “We believe we owe it to the people who have served. We want to be part of helping bring independence back to our nation’s wounded veterans,” Susan says.
The team used social media and the newspaper to promote their initiative held in May. They had custom shirts made and swag to give away. All gross tips and donations earned during a three-hour window, as well as a $250 contribution from the office went to WWP.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. The team at EXIT Realty Dyersville raised $2,683.06 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match for a total donation of $5,366.12 to Wounded Warrior Project.
“Your financial support of Wounded Warrior Project is enabling us to live out our vision of fostering the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history,“ said Julian Willis, Resource Development Coordinator for Wounded Warrior Project.
