Recently, Brandy Underberg and a team of real estate professionals from EXIT Realty Capital City in Urbandale, Iowa, participated in an “Adopt a Day” home build experience in support of Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. According to the organization’s website, “An Adopt-a-Day is a great way to have a group come together and do something for the community… working under skilled leadership on one of our houses in progress.”
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. In order to participate in the build day, EXIT Associates donated $1,250 which EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match, for a total donation to Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity of $2,500.
“Thanks to you, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity offered a hand up to 361 families this past year to break the cycle of poverty with safe, decent, and affordable housing,” said Clara Bergan, Director of Advancement, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. “With your generous support, families will gain stability through homeownership and join the 94% of Habitat homeowners who remain in their homes or have paid off their mortgages since 2003.”
