Brian Fraser, Sales Representative at EXIT Realty Town & Country of New Minas, Nova Scotia, participated in a 40km EXIT Valley Wounded Warriors Training Ride with the “Blue Nose Crew” in an effort to raise money for Wounded Warriors Canada. Wounded Warriors Canada is a charity whose mission is to honour and support Canada’s ill and injured Armed Forces, first responders, veterans, and their families. Their programs include clinical therapy, animal assisted therapies, resiliency training and respite care.
Brian raised money through donations to his fundraising account on the Wounded Warriors site, and by raffling a commemorative cycling jersey. Brian chose this charity as it supports the mental health needs of first responders and Canadian military, a cause near and dear to the hearts of the many associates that also happen to be retired career Department of National Defense members and paramedics.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Brian hoped to raise $5,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, but he in fact raised $5,765 for a total donation to Wounded Warriors Canada of $10,765.
“On behalf of Wounded Warriors Canada, I would like to thank you and your team for your support. It is thanks to supporters like you that our mental health programs benefiting injured veterans, first responders, and their families are made possible,” said Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada.
