“Our previous Broker, Sharon Shortt, who is now deceased, had chosen this charity and worked alongside it for some time; we wanted to continue that tradition,” explained Marylou Frost, Sales Representative with EXIT Realty Group, Brokerage in Trenton, ON, of why their team chose to support Kinsmen Club of Trenton, “I also love that this charity is for children and they will wake up to toys under their Christmas tree, that they may not have been able to receive without the help of this charity.”
Marylou and the EXIT Realty Group team of professionals set up an EXIT tent at the arena for the Trenton Golden Hawks Game and spent the weekend selling raffle tickets for 10 gift sets and even had a Plinko board with prizes. The money raised will address the needs of families who cannot afford to put presents under the tree for their children on Christmas.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Marylou and her team raised $1,600, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $3,200 to Kinsmen Club of Trenton.
“Marylou was inspirational in spearheading this event. In her inaugural event, she and the team at EXIT were able to raise $1600.00 to support the Trenton Kinsmen Toy Drive which provides toys for children under 12 in the Quinte West area. These funds will directly go to purchasing gifts for these underprivileged children,” said Ed Newbery, Kinsmen Club of Trenton.
