A New Year, A New You

One thing that I think we can all agree on is that this year has brought tremendous challenge and change. Looking back, it has also expanded our perspectives. What you know now, you didn’t before. But that’s perspective; you can’t truly have it without the experience of going through something, right?

You’re not the same person you were at the beginning of the year. Are you proud of your work? If not, why not? Remember, you’re in no need of another’s approval. What matters most is between you and you. Have you been looking too hard at external issues instead of focusing on selling or what’s in front of you on your own plate? Even if you didn’t reach your goals, be certain that we’ve been through challenges before. I’ve been through four or five complex markets, including this one. We make it through these shifts, because change is the only common thing. It’s always pulse on, pulse off. Each has its own characteristics to which we all learn to adapt.

We’re experiencing a re-invention of this business at this time in history. There’s a re-arrangement of the furniture, of the system, going on. It doesn’t feel nice, but you have to clean up before you build. We need these storms. We’re developing psychological callouses, defining our true character, becoming more well-rooted and unshakable. And when these storms blow through, they help people see our company for the saving grace that it has been for so many.

Storms also help us see what’s missing. I see a real necessity for effective leadership in organized real estate going forward into 2025. I can’t underscore the importance of this enough, and our executive will continue to guide you and support you every way we can. It’s also going to be a very high tech year, so tap into our resources. When you’re feeling destabilized, grab hold of the ship and let it guide you while you come back to yourself. Believe in yourself again because we believe in you, and we believe in this industry.

EXIT is moving forward with a dichotomy of thinking. We’re dealing in realism, but we all have to entertain idealism, and know where to apply both. People will always need a place to live, and real estate professionals are the catalysts. Not just anyone can do the work between people that they do. Now is the time to concentrate on you. When the gas is low in your car, you fill the tank. You need to fill your tank too and realize when you’re running low. Everything else grows from there. Are you spending time on who you are, creating the blueprints and reviewing them constantly? You are the architect. What did you ask for, and are you asking for enough?

Going into 2025, get your bearings on what’s happening and with a positive, constructive attitude and some creative thinking, decide how you’ll deal with it. We’re entering into a time of more love, less force. Allowing versus making it happen. Harmony is very important right now, so spend more time with self. It’s like prepping for the big game. Champions practice. You have to reinforce yourself every day, with 30 minutes a day where no one else has the right to that time. Stay present in the present, knowing all habits are created in the present.

When we take care of ourselves, control and stabilize ourselves, and make ourselves as a strong as possible, we inspire and encourage those around us to do the same, building our circle while staying in our circle.

Wishing you and yours all the joy of the holiday season, and much prosperity in 2025.
