Denise Cortez, sales representative with EXIT Realty Twin Bridges, Brokerage, in Sarnia, ON, wanted to pay it forward by donating to Life’s Seasons Care and Support. Life’s Seasons Care and Support offers services to those going through a difficult time in their lives and helps equip them with resources and knowledge to get through those hardships.
“When I wasn’t doing well in real estate, I couldn’t afford counseling. Only when someone else had donated was I able to get sessions. I’m forever grateful,” said Denise of why she chose to support this charity. She donated a part of her commission from every transaction closed from June 2020 until December 2020.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Denise hoped to raise $500 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match but exceeded her goal and raised $1,710 for a total donation of $2,210 to Life’s Seasons Care & Support.
“I’d personally like to thank you for your latest donation and continued support of our programs at Life’s Seasons Care and Support,” said Jim Miner, Executive Director of Life’s Seasons Care and Support. “I only wish it were possible for you to witness the tears and expression of gratitude coming from clients in distress that have limited, or no funds available to support them in working through their trauma when we tell them, ‘Don’t worry, some has you covered.’ Many changes have been made for 2021 and we are planning for next steps to healing and wholeness. Thanks to you, we’re going to do this, we’re going to get through this, and we’re going to move on.”
