Our first annual Bekkers Realty Golf Tournament in support of Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa was a huge success. Although a little rain stopped the golf after 13 holes, 22 foursomes enjoyed a great round of golf, a fantastic prime rib dinner, lots of prizes, drinks and laughs all in support of such a great cause.
Aside from the monetary donation, lasting connections were made for all those involved, including but not limited to connecting Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa with one of the title sponsors, United Building Supplies, who will be great in working with them on getting the supplies needed in order to provide affordable housing.
All in all, it was a great way to get 88 people out of the office for the day, enjoying a round of golf and raising money to be matched by EXIT Realty Corp. International in the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Eric and his team raised $2,743.07, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation to Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa of $5486.14.
“The first-ever event was nothing short of a massive success. Your generosity and support make it possible for our organization to continue our important work and to make our community an even greater place to live. We want to sincerely thank you for your continued support of our cause,” said Taylor Mueller, Fundraising and Communications Officer with Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa.
