EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario Have a Ton-O-FUNdraiser with Help from the Spirit of EXIT

By Duncan MacDonald, Regional Director, EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario

Well, with a gorgeous afternoon, and with the sun shining brightly over 270 little leaguers and their parents, the weather was ideal for hosting the inaugural EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario TON-O-FUNdraiser Food Bank food drive at Ottawa Stadium in Ottawa, Ontario.

Residents of Ottawa were prompted to drop off non-perishable food items as the admission fee to gain access to the stadium’s field of play where there were a host of games to play with their family. Games included soccer, volleyball, frisbee, football, baseball batting cage and just running the bases. Residents got to play on Ottawa’s most premier playing field in return for helping restock the shelves at the Ottawa Food Bank. Cash was also collected.

The TON-O-FUNdraiser would not have been possible without the volunteer efforts of EXIT Realty Associates from EXIT Realty Matrix offices in Orleans and Embrun along with associates from EXIT Realty Vision of Carleton Place. Regional Owner of EXIT Realty of Eastern Ontario, AJ Plant, who paid to reserve the professional baseball facility, thanked Jim Watson, Mayor of Ottawa, for assisting in the effort to publicize the food drive for restocking the empty shelves at the food bank.  Overall, everyone had a great time having some family fun while supporting the Ottawa food bank.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. In addition to the food collected, EXIT Realty Eastern Ontario raised $267.50 which EXIT’s Head Office was proud to match for a total donation to the Ottawa Food Bank of $535.00.
