“The military, and their housing needs, are very important to me. I believe that all vets should be housed,” tells Januari Coates, Broker/Owner of EXIT Leading Edge Realty in Stafford, VA of why she and her team chose to support Unity in the Community with their event for veterans.
The First Annual Veterans Gala was an event that not only celebrated the service and sacrifice of veterans but also showcased the power of community collaboration. Hosted by Unity in the Community, Inc., an organization whose mission is to eradicate poverty through affordable housing, the gala proved to be a tremendous success, leaving a lasting impact on all those who attended.
The evening was filled with gratitude and recognition for veterans and included a call to order, posting of colors by the Honor Guard, and a lovely rendition of the National Anthem. Following was a dinner, and performances by a comedienne and local band to round out the entertainment.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Januari and her team hoped to raise $3,500, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded that goal and raised $4,915 for a total donation of $8,415 to Unity in the Community.
“EXIT Realty’s commitment to community welfare was evident in their Program, which not only demonstrated their support for the event but also contributed significantly to the funds raised. This collaboration between Unity in the Community, Inc., and EXIT Realty exemplifies the positive impact that can be achieved when organizations join forces for a common cause,” said Dr. Arthur Darby III, Founder and CEO of Unity in the Community, Inc.
