Chris Hochstedt, Franchisee of EXIT Real Estate Partners in Downers Grove, IL, formed an office team that participated in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise money for Children’s Cancer Research Fund. Children’s Cancer Research Fund works tirelessly to support scientists and research to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure.
Chris’ office team spent the month of September riding and logging their miles. Each rider had an individual page as well as a link to the team page to raise money for their cause. Donors could sponsor a rider by offering an amount per mile or give a one-time donation of any amount. Chris chose this charity as cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in the United States. He believes that kids should be living their lives not fighting for them. “Cancer has touched everyone in some way. It has personally affected me as I lost my dad to cancer as well as many other family members,” he said.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Chris’ team raised $9,173.34 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $18,346.68 to Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
“Thank you for your company team’s time and efforts to support the Children’s Cancer Research Fund by being a part of the Great Cycle Challenge during September. These gifts from your friends, family and colleagues help support the innovation and promising research that will one-day cure childhood cancer,” said HaiVy Thompson, Vice President of Mission and Marketing for Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
